What we do

At Barney Estates & Auctioneers we are passionate about property and land, with the aim of providing you the ultimate customer experience. Our ethos is to deliver sound and honest advice whether you are buying property, land, selling, or just a little confused as to what to do next.

As a young and dynamic auction house, we offer land and properties nationwide. We host weekly auctions that are live streamed via EIG (Essential Information Group), allowing buyers the opportunity to either join us in person or bid from the comfort of their own home.

Unlike estate agents, who tend to have the vast majority of their stock located within a few miles from office, we have lots on offer that could be 100 miles away or more and, in our case, property located all over the UK.

Since 2020 we have seen a growing demand from vendors for auction services. With challenging market conditions, we offer an alternative method of sale that is tailored to suit both agents and vendors.

Most auction houses hold auctions roughly every 5 weeks, however we offer a weekly auction with an average of 50 lots in each.

One of the biggest advantages of our auction process is not only the frequency but also that we consistently strive to bring a wide range of purchase opportunities for buyers and obtain best price for our sellers.

The auction process allows us to maximise the potential of selling with speed and with certainty.

In addition, selling your property at auction ensures a more transparent process than traditional methods.

The key difference of buying at auctions is that when you make your offer, it is a live bid in the auction, and if yours is the winning bid contracts are exchanged upon the fall of the auctioneer's gavel.

As members of the Property Redress Scheme is a consumer redress scheme authorised by the Department for Communities and Local Government (“DCLG”) and by the National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team to offer redress to consumers of Lettings, Property Management and Estate Agents.

Barney Estates and Auctioneers is affectionately named after one of our resident pups Barney. Barney spends every Tuesday and Thursday in the office with us, sneaking all the pats and treats he can get in whilst ensuring the auctions run smoothly for our clients and vendors.

Our continued resilience has meant our success rate has grown exponentially with well over 400 sales in 2022, and more than 250 so far this year, in our ever growing portfolio of residential properties, commercial properties and land parcels across the UK.

* Generally speaking Guide Prices are provided as an indication of each seller's minimum expectation, i.e. 'The Reserve'. They are not necessarily figures which a property will sell for and may change at any time prior to the auction. Virtually every property will be offered subject to a Reserve (a figure below which the Auctioneer cannot sell the property during the auction) which we expect will be set within the Guide Range or no more than 10% above a single figure Guide.
